Photocatalytic surface patterning of cellulose using diazonium salts and visible light.
Coumarin-functionalized cellulose sheets were chemically modified using a visible light catalyzed "Photo-Meerwein" arylation. Use of a photomask to pattern the surface resulted in directly visible images.

Molecular grafting of diazonium is a widely employed surface modification technique. Local electrografting of this species is a promising approach to surface doping and related properties tailoring. The instability of diazonium cation complicates this process, so that this species was generated in situ in many reported studies. In this Article, we report the egress transfer of aryl diazonium ca...

Carbon–carbon bond formation by sp–sp or sp–sp crosscoupling is a key transformation in organic synthesis. Many methods, typically involving transition metal catalysis, are known, and the recent recognition of Richard F. Heck, Ei-ichi Negishi and Akira Suzuki by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Stockholm, Sweden) when they were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (2010) underlines the im...
متن کاملVisible-light-driven surface reconstruction of mesoporous TiO2: toward visible-light absorption and enhanced photocatalytic activities.
The surface structure of mesoporous TiO(2) is reconstructed via a visible-light-driven reaction with benzyl alcohol molecules at mild, anaerobic conditions, which substantially extends its visible-light absorption and photocatalytic activities.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)-doped TiO2 thin films were synthesized by the dip-coating method. The obtained products were characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD, and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The XRD patterns showed the presence of anatase phase. Absorption spectrum of MWCNT-doped TiO2 revealed a red shift in the optical absorption edge due to carbon doping. The photocatalytic properties...
